We are currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will work with our growing bookkeeping team. We are looking for someone who has several years of bookkeeping experience, likes working in an office environment and resides in Edmonton or its surrounding areas. The successful candidate will have exceptional internal and external client relationship building skills with the ability to handle a number of files and projects at a time. Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Completing online and desktop bookkeeping transactions

  • Liaising with clients and providing professional advice on their bookkeeping and payroll needs

  • Preparing financial statements

  • Reviewing bookkeeping transactions

  • Identifying bookkeeping and/or payroll related issues and coming up with solutions to the concerns

  • Building internal and external client relationships

  • Researching and staying current on any new bookkeeping & payroll software and practices

  • Assisting co-workers with their training needs as needed

  • Other tasks as they arise

The Skills you should have:

  • An Accounting Diploma (equivalent experience will be considered)

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar or related role

  • Experience working in a Professional Services firm would be an asset

  • QuickBooks Online (QBO) certification

  • Payroll certification or willingness to obtain the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation within three years of employment

  • Excellent communication, attention to detail and time management skills

  • Exceptional relationship building skills (internal and external)

  • Proficiency in QBO, Sage 50 and MS Excel
