Senior Tax Manager

We are currently looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will work with our Tax team and will assist in growing the department. We are looking for someone who would like to lead/coach staff, while working on their own professional development. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit with business savvy. They will be able to create, maintain and build internal and external client relationships.

Your Responsibilities will include:
Working with a variety of clients from various industries and providing tax planning advice
Explaining, preparing, and reviewing personal, corporate and trust tax returns
Assisting with the execution of deliverables and the completion of technical work
Coaching and mentoring staff
Researching and staying current on any new tax legislation or changes to it
Understanding and explaining GST to internal and external clients
Recruiting tax staff in conjunction with the Tax Partner and Human Resources
Creating correspondence to the CRA, writing proposals and other documentation as needed
Supporting partners in mergers and acquisitions (particularly health care), including purifying companies or sale and reviewing tax and accounting aspects of purchase and sale documents
Monitoring and managing various deadlines
Other tasks as they arise
The Skills you should have:
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who has completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax program.
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in taxation (personal, corporate and trust tax returns)
Experience with statutory tax analysis and research
Proficient with tax research databases (Knotia, Tax Net Pro, CTF Tax Find, etc.)
Experience writing technical planning letters
Exceptional communication, time management, leadership and relationship building skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient in MS Excel, TaxPrep and CaseWare
